Not sure what to say?

It has dawned on me that it was eleven years ago today that we experienced your funeral. I still remember the details and all of the people who came together to celebrate your life. Especially those so close to you, like Scott and the other young soldiers there as honor guards; the Eckes family who added words and music to the day; and the families of your battle buddies and your school friends who came to say goodbye.

My only regret is due to the rush we had to experience in...

Your mom and I were privileged to ride in last weekend's Patriot Guard Fundraiser ride at Blaine Airport. As Gold Stars we are able to do so, and there is a special area for your pictures, etc., to be exhibited, as well as a program following the ride honoring our military heroes.

For the first time, there was also a recognition of our fallen police heroes as well. Their families, as members of END OF WATCH, were also treated to recognition. Because of your affiliation with law...

"Let me know in my heart when my days are through, America America I gave my best to you..." - from AMERICAN ANTHEM lyrics.

I first heard this last evening, July 4, 2017, being sung by the West Point Band with vocalist Craig Campbell. When I heard his voice and the lyrics I thought of you immediately, as well as the other youngsters we here in MN have lost in recent years. You indeed gave your best, as did we. Love you always. GB

Yes,we would love to find out more information on this run and the mile marker, etc...What a wonderful thing to do in honor of our Heroes! Thank you very much for letting us know about this! Would love to see pictures, too!

Thank you again!

Memorial Day this year was a bit more special than normal. The Palmer Lake VFW post saluted you, Nick, and about a dozen other heroes during their annual event at Mound Cemetery in Brooklyn Center. We were invited to attend. Mom. R.j. and his girlfriend, and Papa and I attended as guests in your honor. They also treated us to lunch afterward.

Scott, Vanessa, Dominik, Hailey and Richard happened to be attending the ceremony as well so they also were invited to sit with us at...

I would love more info on the mile marker 16 being run by M/M Warner in Nick's memory. It is a wonderful thing to do for Nick. He had a true love/hate relationship with running and would be honored to think someone would do that for him! As his grandmother I thank you for offering to do this.
