Nicholas Eugene "Sonny" VARNEY

Mr. Varney was my 5th grade teacher at Back Creek and I loved that class! I can only hope my kids have great teachers like I did at Back Creek Elementary. I remember he would always smile and he liked peanuts and Coke. :)

My thoughts and prayers are with all of Nick's family. Nick and I taught together for many years at Back Creek, I considered him an outstanding educator and remember fondly the plays his students would perform, his fifth graders strolling the halls singing at Christmas with Nick strumming his guitar and his afternoon ritual of pouring peanuts into a Coke bottle for a snack!

Rest in peace Mr.Varney .I had the joy of having you 2 years in a row 4th grade and 5th grade you where a awesome teacher.You will be truly missed

May you rest in peace Mr. Varney. You were my 5th grade teacher at Back Creek Elementary and we all loved you dearly. I met my husband of 13 years in YOUR 5th grade class at Back Creek Elementary. I still have the Tshirt from that class of 1984 with all the students names on it along with yours. I will always remember you with love.

We are praying for the peaceful repose of Sonny's soul. He was a loving grandfather. May the angels lead him into paradise.

God Bless you Mr. Varney and your family. Thank you for your service. I am sorry you had pancreatic cancer. My father in law died from pancreatic cancer when he was 53. We still miss him today, but now when we think about him we laugh and smile more than we cry.
Rest in peace and may God give your family the comfort they need during this time. May they celebrate your life.

I worked with Nick at Back Creek Elem and have fond memories of him. He was a great teacher and a neat person.
