I adored this irascible genius. We grew up together, one might say. Nick´s staggering, quick intelligence was the stuff of legend. May his memory be a blessing.

So sorry to hear this. Nick was a spectacularly brilliant, funny, and humble guy. I, too, was a classmate for seven years and knew Nick well enough that I visited him at his family's house several times when we were at Pembroke together. Special memories: In 1965 Nick won 2 tickets to a Beachboys concert and asked me to go with him. On spring break, freshman year, I visited him at Harvard and toured Cambridge and Boston. Nick and I were close friends at PemDay. I used to visit him at his house and knew Zonka, Slavi and Vee and Rosie as well. He was a brilliant student of all things, including 60s music of all kinds. When I arrived at PemDay in 6th grade, Nick was already legendary among teachers and students for his academic prowess. Later, we loved to dance and shake things up at school. I remember Nicky well from our pre-school and early elementary school days and attending Belmont Christian Church in Kansas City, Missouri. Though his intellect was already evident at that young age, his friendliness was even more apparent. Kids, like we were then, pick up on that very quickly.
