Funny every time I drive by 400 East 200 South I think of that smiling face, from when I first met him at The Athenian to the last time I saw him at the 33rd and State Store. RiP Uncle Nick you were truly one of a kind.

Mike,
I am so sorry about your dads passing. He was such a nice man. Everytime we come down to SLC we always made a stop at Crown burger just to eat some good food and to say Hi to Nick.
I guess he taught you well, because he also has such a nice son who has respect for his customers. You are also a great and trustworthy business man.
May his memories help you get through the tough days. My deepest sympathy go out to you and your family. He will surely be missed.

Mary-
Me again. I forgot to mention, how grateful I was to have been one of your million friends. I forgot to mention how kind and generous you were to me when I first moved here from Hawaii and how you took me in and introduced me to your family and to allow me to be a guest at the Athenian Restaurant many years ago during our employment at Sperry Univac.
I will always remember your kindness, and Nick was a classic example of love/kindness. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!

Dear Mary & Family
I was obviously on the internet this morning and discovered the passing of your "loving" husband. I am so sorry for your loss.
My memories take me back to the 60's, especially our years at "Sperry Univac". Because of your friendship. I had the good fortune and opportunity to know your husand as well. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. May the Lord's blessings be with you each day.

Dear Katsanevas Family,
Watching the demolition of the small restaurant with the hot dog on it at 400 East and 200 South I wondererd what would go in there.
When the first Crown Burger opened I thought I could eat both the crown burger and the burrito (what a fool I was!). That is when I first met Nick.
No where was there a higher caliber restaurant than at Nick's Crown Burger. He set the standard in business and in his personal life.
All of us at the Salt Lake City Police Department loved Nick and the Crown Burger. Now that I am with Sandy Police his standard of professionalism and character lives on with the Crown Burger on 9600 South State.
A great person all around. He will be missed. God Bless you all at this time. My prayers are with you.

Dear Katsanevas Family;
We were so shocked to hear of Nick's passing. Several of us were at the lake last week and Nick came up in a conversation. We all started sharing stories about lunches, deliveries and how all of you made us feel like family. Roger delivered food to Nick years ago and even though Nick was never shy about what he expected ("Make sure you rotate those fries", Did you rotate the fries?", Don't leave here until you rotate the fries")and he could be hard on us, we are all better people for having known Nick. And even though Roger moved up North and I went back to HR whenever we came into the restaurant for a meal, we ALWAYS got a hug and he always made time to sit and visit. We will miss his smile, generosity and his wicked personality (What a character!). He worked hard, was proud of his amazing family and earned the respect of so many of us. May his memory be eternal. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of his family and his many friends.
P.S. Nick, Sport will miss the bacon you would sneak to him through the drive up..

Dear Katsanevas Family: My family and I are very sad to hear of Nick's passing. Whenever we visited my Uncle Andy, one of our highlights was coming to the Crown Burger to see Nick and talk shop. Though we didn't know him as well as we would have liked, he was one of the nicest people we have ever met. Our SLC visits will not be the same without Nick, he will be greatly missed by many.

Dear Katsanevas Family:
I had the pleasure of doing business with Nick for more than 25 years. As tough as a negotiator as he was, he was also one of the most caring people I have encountered in business. I learned a lot from Nick about business and I will never forget my phasant hunting trip with Nick & Manuel almost 20 years ago. I greatly respected Nick and I will miss Nick. We have lost a true legend in our restaurant business community.

Dear Mary, Lexi and Mike,
I met Nick five years ago at Crown and after having lunch every day for a while it became obvious that his staff never left the business--no turn over. They were taken care of and felt valued even in the face of his high standards. He set the tone for a quality business. He also treated his customers with warmth and caring. As I got to know Mary, Lex, and Mike I quickly knew what a quality family you are. You have a value system that will be passed on to young Nick, with your long proud heritage from Nick's parents down to you. Mary, you are an angel of a lady. Nick has been ill and now has peace. I will drop by in the near future for lunch. Mr. Mike you are a professional's professional. You are all in my thoughts. My best to each of you. If I can help in any way please ask.

Mary and Mike, It was with great sadness when we learned of Nick's death. He was always so kind to us. I remember when Brian Johnson first came to Utah to play for the U of U and Nick brought him over to our table and Introduced him to our Son, Boyd and I. He told us to watch him because he was going to be a great QB. He will be missed.

Dear Katsanevas Family,
We loved Nick. He always treated us like family. In our house we say," should we go see Mr. Nick?" when we meant going to Crown. We loved Nick's style and atmosphere we followed him to 33rd despite adding 20 min. driving time. He was unbelievably kind to our four girls and they loved the special attention. It won't be the same but his legacy lives on. Our lives are better having known Nick. I will miss being greeted with, "how are you my friend?".
Our deepest sympathies for your loss.
July 2, 2012
Dear Katsanevas Family,
Nick and his entire family have been our friends for about 40 years. We look back over that time with the absolute fondest of memories. Nick always had that sincere "how are you grin" on his face when we would meet. He also wanted to know what we wanted on our Crown Burger.
We loved him, will miss him, and may he rest in eternal peace.
