Not sure what to say?

Found this photo, taken near our home at Miller Beach in Gary, IN.

Nick's birthday and day of passing are always in my calendar. He was a great friend! God bless Nick and his family and friends.

I'll miss Nick and Connie forever. Great friends, great people; rest in peace.

My best Gary and Lew Wallace friend and colleague, farewell again. I think of you often with the great memories of our friendship. Every time I visit family in Chicago I wish I could drive out to Crown Point to see you and yours.

Shirley, Mike, Patty, & Susie,
Belated condolences. I have fond memories of your dad/Nick all through my childhood. Attaching a photo from several years back that you might enjoy.
Sincerely,
Barb Zeek Henry

This broke my heart to read. Mr. Sweigart was my principal at Barker, and then counselor at Elston. This man is the very reason I was able to graduate, as he supported me, even when I was out of Elston, and at MCHS. One of a kind, and great man he was. I was lucky to have such an amazing man be a guidance for me, and support me. My prayers are with his family and friends in this difficult time.

Dear Sweigart family: We are sorry sorry for your loss. Nick is a one-of-a-kind man. We will think of him everytime the Cardinals play baseball. God's Peace

Mr. Sweigart was a man who made an impression on my life. He was my principal at Barker and my counselor at Elston. What a guy!! He always supported me and I'll never forget his encouragement. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing.

Nick was a lot of things to me: He was my principal when I was a student at Kankakee Valley H.S.; a counselor to my students at Elston Middle School; a Cardinal foe; (I'm a Cubs fan) but most of all, a good friend. Years back, when I was living in Crown Point, I once caught a ride to Michigan City with Nick. We made it from CP to MC in 34 minutes! Nick, swerving in and out of traffic, no seat belt, me...hanging on and praying for my life! Nick was one of a kind. I will miss him dearly. R.I.P....
