Nickolas Kane Allen, 17, of Dover, died Saturday, February 24, 2007, at St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born September 20, 1989, at Clarksville to Dr. Robert W. Allen and Susan W. Allen. He went to school in Russellville until 11th grade when he attended the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts in Hot Springs. He played the tuba in the Russellville Band for five years. He was concerned about global warming and the environment and wanted the Earth to be at peace. Survivors include his parents, Bob and Susan W. Allen of Dover; two brothers, Kip Allen of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Kerry Allen of Fayetteville; his maternal grandfather, Kenneth R. Walker of Russellville; an aunt and uncle, Elizabeth and Steve Franks of Russellville; and an uncle, John R. Allen of Norman, Oklahoma, along with cousins and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Mary Walker. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2007, at the Witherspoon Auditorium on the ATU campus with the Rev. Keith Coker officiating. Burial will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service. Visitation will be immediately following the memorial service. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Russellville Kiwanis Club. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Russellville Kiwanis Scholarship Fund, Post Office Box 1801, Russellville, Arkansas 72811, Central Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 400 West Main Street, Russellville, Arkansas 72801, or an environmental group of your choice.
