I am one of many great nieces of Niel and Janie. I am the eldest daughter of Ted Frey and grandaughter of Edward Frey and Frances Taliferro Frey. I too have many fond memories of the family gatherings on lake Michigan and in Grand Rapids and Charlevoix. We send our love and condolences to Aunt Janie and to all of the Weathers family. You are in our hearts and prayers.

All our love,

Mary, Richard and Luke Bennett

I too have very fond memories of time spent with Uncle Niel, Aunt Jane and their children during summer visits on Lake Michigan or at a wonderful home in Ada. Niel was not one to "chatter" or join in on the "small talk" but his smile and calm way said ever so much. I remember sitting on the deck overlooking the lake while we shucked corn. I remember a huge and wonderful fireplace that was so warm and inviting. It was fun to chase after the few errant balls when Niel, Jane, Mom and Dad played...

As a niece of Niel Weathers, I wish to express my condolences especially to my Aunt Jane. I cherish my childhood memories of Niel as well as those during my adult life. A man of few but wise words, I can only guess at the number of times he baited my fishing hook, swam with me in Lake Michigan and granted me superb hospitality in his home. We both had a passion for crossword puzzles but he was the one to fill in the spaces of the most difficult clues, no dictionary allowed! His was a quiet...

Offering our deepest condolences during this difficult time.
