Uncle, Father and Brother NIFON

Had I Had more space, I would have written tens of pages, but since the space is limited, I am going to sum up what cannot be summed up. The late Nifon left Syria shortly before I was born in 1953. When I was born and was growing up in the family’s home in Bahhour, Uncle Nifon was always present in our gatherings, weddings and funerals because his name was always there, though he was away only physically. Uncle Nifon never retuned to Syria not...

I am bitterly disappointed that I did not hear about my beloved teacher Fr. Nifon's passing until now and that I was unable to pay my respects properly. What a wonderful and inspirational man. May his memory be eternal!

Father was "my" priest, "my" spiritual arm, "my" unconditional human love, yes, "my" proud branch in this Tree of Life. I miss his voice, yet I hear the choir "above" sounding magnificent since His arrival.

My heartfelt sympathy and friendship.

I was very sad to hear of the passing of Father Nifon. As a member of St. John's of Damascus, I will miss his kind words and a voice that brougth tears to my eyes.
May his memory be eternal.

What a tremendous loss. There are no words to convey what his passing means - it is the end of an era. And many of us feel utterly bereft at his passing. My memories of Father Nifon are many as he was, really, the singular spiritual leader of my growing up and my adult life.

My family is so grateful that he attended my father's 90th birthday celebration in May, both to lead us in prayer and as a long-time family friend and spirtual adviser.

May he rest in peace. ...

May it comfort you to know that he has left you with many fond memories. Treasure them as they will lessen your pain as the days go by.

Dear Mona, Donald & family:
Our deepest sympathy to all of you on your loss. May God be with you always to get you through this difficult time.

my best memory of Fr. Nifon...... him and my dad were more than priest and parishoner...... they were good friends.
