My thoughts are with all of you at this time. I am very sadden by the passing of your father and grandfather. As you know I loved Niles and enjoyed teasing him and sending him funny cards. He was the definition of a true gentleman and took great care of his family. I know he is with Jean now and still giving her the one/two on her catalog shopping. "Snail" or "Sonny" (as I called him) was 6 years older than me and a second cousin. His grandmother, Lottie, was a sister to my grandfather, Charles Strayer. For a brief period I lived with Lottie and Ivan Meyers (circa 1945-1949). I hung around "Snail" like he was a big prother, often to his annoyance, I'm sure. I was truly saddened to learn of Niles death. My sincerest sympathy goes out to Niles entire family. During his tenure with DNR, Niles exhibited the outstanding character his family and friends know so well. On many occasions I had the honor and pleasure to seek Niles help in the small engine repair and fabrication shop in the old DNR Compound on Marvin Road. Jan and Cindy , Rick and I are so sorry for the loss of your Dad so soon after your Mom, Niles was a great man and a terrific friend, I am so glad that he was able to come up for Ricks party last Nov. He will be missed by all.

Jan, Cindy & Bryon, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your father/grandfather. Niles was a very special person. I know he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
