Not sure what to say?

"Jawdat" means "Quality" in Arabic and Nizar certainly lived up to his name. Wise, gentle, informed and kind. How his native Iraq could do with more like him. Farewell old friend and thanks for forty years' friendship. Condolences to Ellen and family from Christopher and Sarah Foley, London

I have many fond memories of the summer of '72 spent with the Jawdat family. Nizar and his wife Ellen were so welcoming to me. I was a very young girl from Scotland and they introduced me to a whole new world. My deepest condolences to the Jawdat family.

To the Jawdat family I have often thought of you and your wonder-filled gallery since the warm welcome (with aromatic tea) that I received years ago. You created a special civilized place in this city, and I was delighted to write about St. Luke's for Where magazine. I retired in 2015 but still write about art and architecture, recalling my moments with Piranesi and Maes, et al, there. Sending sympathy to you who have lost this wise, charming gentleman.....Jean Lawlor Cohen

My condolences to family and friends. May the pleasant memories you cherish and the peace of God comfort and sustain you in your time of need.
