AIN--Noa. Composer, librettist, painter and lover of life, Noa Ain (nee Susan Ain) took her last breath on Friday morning. With her warm, vibrant, larger-than-life personality, striking style, and ever- painted red lips, Noa touched everyone she met. A graduate of The Juilliard School, she...

Not sure what to say?

I am heartbroken to read this notice. Noa was a very generous and inclusive person. Our warmest thoughts for Julia and Olek. My wife Deniz was Susan's (Noa) close friend from Juilliard - Our wedding party was he'd in Noa's then .. 1968 .. apartment in Little Italy. Deniz (my bride) did the cooking, and we all enjoyed a great party in Noa's apartment. Erol Gelenbe

There are few people who have enhanced and influenced my life as composer, artist and deep friend, Noa Ain. We met in 1997, a year before my first husband, Wouter Germans, died. Her music, friendship, depth of understanding and humor are something I reflect upon every day. Her daughter, Julia Krupa Ain, continues on as another artist/writer of substantial talent and vision. So very grateful.

Always a ray of sunshine whenever I would see you. I will miss our chats and your sweet and sunny disposition. I will forever treasure the painting you made for my little Sam. I will miss you forever.

You will be missed forever my dear Noa RIP

A truly special person, one of a kind. So much love to you Julia.

Dear Olek and Julia--

David and I were so surprised and saddened by the news of Noa's passing. She was so VIBRANT!! So BEAUTIFUL and ACCOMPLISHED. We fondly recall the times you came to our garden in Piermont--bringing loads of bagels and nova!--and of course the time we spent together in Woodstock at River Arts.

Julia, Noa's eyes lit up whenever she mentioned or heard your name. How proud she was!

We send you loving thoughts--
Marguerite & David

My heartfelt sympathies go out to your family during this difficult time. I hope the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring much comfort. Just knowing that there's a hope for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.

I was always astonished at her beauty...and her humility. We knew each other through my sister, Trudy, and always sat next to each other at every gathering. She was a remarkable woman, so poised, intelligent and talented. And a fighter. Noa was a fighter. Rest in peace, beautiful one.
