Friends and relatives say Pvt. Noah L. Boye was the life of the party. "He was always there for everybody and anybody," said Gabriel Trejo, 22. "He never hated anyone. He loved everyone." Boye, 21, of Grand Island, Neb., was killed April 13 when he came under hostile fire near Fallujah, Iraq. Boye, who graduated from high school in Grand Island, was based at Camp Pendleton, Calif. "I didn''t get a lot of detail, but they told me that he died a hero," said Diana Barela, Boye''s mother. She said her son was never resentful about being in Iraq and was proud to serve his country there. "But when he called me and told me that he was going to be working out of Fallujah, he did sound a little tense about that. But he just always said, `Mom, that''s my job. It''s what I have to do,''" she said. Survivors also include his father, Brett Boye.

Not sure what to say?

To Noah's family. I want you to know we fly an American flag daily in your son's honor. I think of him each time I raise and lower the flag, and as I see it throughout the day. He will never be forgotten.

Noah, I visited Arlington for Rolling Thunder 2019 and was given your name to honor with a mindful moment. I am so greatly honored but sadden by your loss. I hope you heard my prayer.

Recon Boye!

Thinking of you

Noah, we are still sorry for your passing no matter how long has passed. Please remember Noah and his family are still in our prayers.

Noah, we miss you bro. Its been 8 years since your passing. Your were the heart of Red Cloud. You were always there whenever anybody needed you. You were not afraid to stand up for what was right. I remember when I first joined 1/5 you took me under your wing. You tried to protect me. You stood up for me when i wouldn't stand up for myself. You taught me so much in the few years I knew you. I will always be grateful and I will always remember. Love ya bro.
