Nona was the best grandmother that a grandchild could have asked for. She gave each of us a reason to be in this world

I just saw this obituary. I loved the strong, talented woman that she was... Alison reminds me of her. She was such a great "Big Mama" in "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" at Theatre Charlotte when my daughter played "Trixie", one of the no-neck monsters. She was such an inspiration to all women... She will be missed. Deborah Lawing

I was lucky to get to know Nona while I was president of the Guild of Charlotte Artist. She had been a member since 1967. The funeral service was lovely and I felt like Nona was there. Carol Pighin, Charlotte

I met this beautiful lady as a neighbor in 1947 here in Asheville. She was an absolute delight, and a friend.
