Tom was a great neighbor and an even better friend. It has been said that if you want to really learn about a person, you should play a round of golf with them. Tom and I played many rounds of golf together in all sorts of weather and we both had our "moments of brilliance" on the course but we also hit some horrendous shots that would make mere mortals break every club in their bag but Tom never lost his temper or got out of sorts.
