I am very sad to read about this notice. I was invited as a spanish/german boy of 16 to stay in the US for a month, living in her house together with Hugo. She tought me English and cared about me in a very kind and warm manner. I kept in touch with her my whole life. We had a lot to tell eachother.

Nora is one of the most unforgettable and influential people in my life. We were friends for more than 20 years, shared a love for adventure and literature and music. Our first trip together was a jaunt to Chicago for the Mary Cassatt exhibit. We drank wine, ate borscht, attended the symphony, shared lots of laughs, appreciated the architecture.
