I am very sad to read about this notice. I was invited as a spanish/german boy of 16 to stay in the US for a month, living in her house together with Hugo. She tought me English and cared about me in a very kind and warm manner. I kept in touch with her my whole life. We had a lot to tell eachother.

Nora is one of the most unforgettable and influential people in my life. We were friends for more than 20 years, shared a love for adventure and literature and music. Our first trip together was a jaunt to Chicago for the Mary Cassatt exhibit. We drank wine, ate borscht, attended the symphony, shared lots of laughs, appreciated the architecture. Her zest and joy were infectious. Over the years we had adventures in New York, Washington, DC, Chicago (again), Lake of the Ozarks, France. I...
