Norbert L. Weber, 89, of Mendota, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. Norbert was born on August 12, 1935, in Peterstown, Illinois, to Edmund and Loretta (Sondgeroth) Weber. On December 26, 1959, Norbert married the love of his life, Rita Krumholz, in a beautiful ceremony at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Metamora. Their love for each other was a true testament to commitment, and together they built a life filled with joy, faith, and family. Norbert was a kind and generous soul, always eager to lend a hand to his friends and family. He had a deep love for his garden and he could fix anything. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rita; his parents; his son, John Daniel Weber; and his sisters, Joanne (Alvin) Montavon, Sister Elaine Weber, Ruth (Jim) Fandel, and Rita (Louis) Pakula; and brother, Ralph Weber. Norbert leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and family. He is survived by his children: Susan (Scott) Seifert of Baraboo, WI; Mark (Deb Bradley) Weber of Pebble Beach, CA; Elaine (Jay) Schmidt of Bloomington, IL; and Eric (Rachel) Weber of Atlanta, GA. He also leaves behind six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and his two dear siblings, Carol (Greg) Apuli and Ray (Patti) Weber.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 20, 2024, at Horner- Merritt Funeral Home in Mendota, with the recitation of the rosary at 3:45 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Holy Cross Church in Mendota, celebrated by Father Fronek. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all those who have supported them during this time, especially the staff at Allure and Stonecroft of Mendota.
