Norberta Victor Carter, 77, of Patterson passed away Saturday at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto after a long courageous fight against breast cancer and bone cancer.
Mrs. Carter was a native of Terceira, Azores and a resident of Patterson for 53 years. She was employed by Tri Valley #5 Cannery as an Inventory Control Supervisor for 26 years. She was a parishioner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Patterson and a member of the YLI. Norberta was married to her late husband Gene Carter for 53 years. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed traveling.
Mrs. Carter is survived by her daughter, Delany Carter of Livermore; sister Fernanda Melo of Gustine; nieces, Donalda (Joe) Souza of Los Banos and Vicky (Joe) Amaral of Patterson. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Gene Carter who passed away in 2012.
A Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Thursday, September 19th at Hillview Funeral Chapel in Patterson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, September 20th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Patterson. Interment to follow at Patterson District Cemetery in Patterson.
