Bill and Norma were special friends to my mother, Emma Lee Clerihew. She enjoyed the music "sessions" at their home. She was a member of the Bill Gilbert fan club. She wanted "Amazing Grace" played by Bill on his fiddle as part of her funeral, but we didn't have a recording of it. After Bill passed away, and Mother's health began to fail, she and Norma checked on each other by phone. Norma was a Carter cousin who befriended me at Western Swing events. She helped me fill in my family history and introduced me to many cousins in Texas. She was a real lady and will be missed.
