NORMA JEAN NICHOLS Portage, Indiana Norma Jean Nichols, age 65, a longtime resident of Portage, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2009. She was born on April 4, 1943 in Garyton, IN, the daughter of James and Esther Wyatt. She was married to Michael Nichols on June 18, 1971 in Portage. Norma was the manager of food service for Myers Elementary School in Portage. She was also a member of the Goldwing Riders Association and the P.T.O. Norma loved to cook, she enjoyed bingo and yard sales, and her great joy was family vacations and being with her grandchildren. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and a friend to all. Norma is survived by her loving family: husband, Michael Nichols, of Portage; daughters, Therese Dunigan, of Valparaiso, and Angie Jeffrey, of Western Australia; sons, Walter (Pamela) Schulz, Richwood, OH, and Michael Jason (Stephanie) Nichols, Chesterton; grandchildren: Beth Kulp, Cassie Schulz, Taylor Dunigan, Elaina Nichols, Griffin Nichols, and Madison Nichols; great grandchildren: Amaya & Isabella Kulp; sisters, Betty (Roy) Taylor, of Lily, KY, Sue (James) McFadden, of London, KY, and Rida (Pete) Peterson, of London, KY; brother, Jerry (Rita) Wyatt, of Lily, KY; and other loving family and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Lorretta Wyatt. A visitation for Norma Nichols will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Rees Funeral Home Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage. She will then have a visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2009 at House-Rawlings Funeral Home, 510 East Fourth Street, London, Kentucky with a funeral service immediately following at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Hale Cemetery in Hopper Creek, KY.
