Midland, Texas
Norma Lita Walker, 70 of Midland, TX, passed away on Friday August 2, 2013 at her residence. She was born to Jessie and Waydia Clayton on September 19, 1942 in Lubbock, Texas. Norma was raised by her grandparents James and Annie Green in Carbon, Texas and Ira, Texas. She married and had two daughters, Lagaytha D'Ann and Rhonda Nevon. She moved to Midland, Texas and worked as a key punch operator and advanced as an accountant for Chevron for 28 years. The most important thing in her life was her daughters and her grandchildren. She loved to have a beautiful yard and worked very hard to make it so. Norma always had a funny story to tell about something she was doing, from building a fence in her yard to working on her car. She loved to dance, had many friends, and loved to laugh. She ran a turtle foster home in her backyard and she had a lot of turtles. If one of the turtles was sick then she took them to the vet to get medicine. Norma will be missed by so many. She was preceded in death by her father, Jessie Clayton, mother Waydia Green Clayton, her grandfather James Olive Green, her grandmother Annie Lee McGaha Green, her brother Phillip Clayton, her dogs PePe, Maggie, and Kiwi, and her cats Meows and Kitty. She is survived by her daughters, Lagaytha Walker Lewallen and husband John of Midland, TX and Rhonda Walker Davis and husband Mike of Ruidoso, NM, her companion, Bennie (Ben) Kemp of Midland, TX and her step-mother, Patty Clayton of Lubbock, TX. She is also survived by her sister, Sharon Kemp of San Antonio, TX and her brothers, Dennis Clayton and wife Debbie of Weatherford, TX and Randy Clayton and wife Connie of Littlefield, TX, and her dog Lucy; four grandchildren Michael, Tanya, Cody and Eric; eight great grandchildren and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Family will be receiving friends tonight from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home. Funeral service is set for Saturday, August 10 at 10:00 am at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 pm at Ira Cemetery in Ira, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Stroke Association. Funeral service is under the direction of Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home and Chapel. We first met Norma in 1955 on a trip to Red River, New Mexico, with Jet, Pattie and their family. She was about 13 years old. We have watched her and her growing family over the years. She was smart, hard-working, and almost always had a smile for you. She will be missed by more people than you know.

Norma loved to laugh. Her joy touched the hearts of many. We will truly miss her so much. She and I shared an office together when Chevron bought Gulf, we knew each other as Gulf employees, and we both worked for Warren. She was so dear.
