Not sure what to say?

During active duty days, I worked with Norman under 29th Engineer Battalion in Fort Bragg in the 80s. He was the one who highly encouraged me to become a warrant officer like him. He was such a gentleman who upheld high military standards, yet compassionate as a person. I will miss him. "Continue to march in the afterlife, Chief!"

I met Norm through our metadata standards activities in 2005. I was quite shocked to hear of his passing.
He was a gentleman and dedicated professional who will be truly missed.

I am very sadden to learn of Norm's passing. I remember like it was yesterday when he told me he was retiring and how much he looked forward to spending time with the Grandchildren. I enjoyed working with Norm on IC standards and since we both live in Stafford, we frequently ran into one another while buying groceries. Norm was a very good friend and colleague, and will be remembered for his dedication and professionalism to all who knew him. God Bless my friend.

I met Norm through our complementary data standards activities in 2003. Norm's professional expertise was only eclipsed by his generous spirit and witty sense of humor. Many of us who knew Norm, knew how much he was looking forward to his retirement last June. When asked what he planned to do once retired, his response was "spend time with my grandkids." We will remember Norm as an esteemed colleague, mentor, and friend.

"I was shocked and saddened to hear of Norm's passing. Norm was a gentleman and a dedicated public servant. Norm's representation of the Geospatial WG in the DoD Metadata WG advanced the goals of each group. Norm was a wonderful colleague and friend. May he rest in peace." Glenda Hayes (MITRE)

I am so shocked to hear of Norm's passing. I worked with him for several years and was always delighted to see him when we would find ourselves at the same event or meeting. Kathleen (Severn, MD)

We have had the pleasure of knowing Norm since 1996, when he joined in the work of ISO/TC 211, and appreciate his contribution to the work through several years. We will miss his good humour and warm friendship.
Olaf Østensen (ISO/TC 211 Chairman) - Bjørnhild Sæterøy (ISO/TC 211 Secretary)

I am Norman's first cousn, kenneth yovanovits. My grandmother and his mother are sisters from the Breza family. Elizabeth and Margerat were sisters. My grandmother was the mother of Olga, my mother who passed away in Jan 09, 2009. I am her son, Ken. Norman and I and Carl were very close, living on Cortlandt street in the 1950's. Norman and I used to restle on the vacant land at the foot of the street. Sometimes he would let me win because I was 3 or 4 years younger! I will miss your...

I worked with Norm for nearly twenty years. He was a good friend. I am very sorry to hear of his death.
