Norman L. Avnet

he loved his garden. i remember the first time he showed me around. we picked bit fat delicious berries,
they were yumy and so was he.

norman was special to me as a friend and important to the Pillow. he believed in my when i hardly believed in myself.
he loved his family and i loved him for that.

In 1988 I had the good fortune to meet Norman Avnet while working at the Medical University of South Carolina and, subsequently, to stay with him and Roz briefly. They were kind and generous, very gracious people who added much to the world and will be missed greatly.

My wife and I met Norman up at our camp in Maine with Selma. Norman was well educated which led to interesting discussions on a variety of topics. We really enjoyed our time together despite it being short. Every year he would give us several jars of his prized raspberry jam which as always, was excellent. We will miss him very much and were blessed to know him.

I always looked forward to driving down Churchill Street to purchase a bouquet of Dr. Avnet's beautiful daffodils, arranged in a container at the bottom of his driveway. Thank you for adding beauty to me home and may you rest in peace. My sincerest condolences to the family of a true gentleman.

I met Doctor back in 1977, I remember him giving a piece of strained glass that he made. The gardens were beautiful. He would go out of his way to say hello
