Norman Chappell, Sr., 91, formerly of West Rockhill Twp., PA, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at Silver Stream Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lower Gwynedd Twp., PA.
He is survived by his wife Sarah (Hartley) Chappell with whom he would have celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in July, and by his first wife, Kathrine (Haberle) Galluppi, who lives in Quakertown.
Born in Boyertown, PA, he was a son of the late Alfred Chappell and Mildred (Peichard) Chappell Smith.
A U.S. Army National Guard veteran of the Korean Conflict, he actively served his country from 1950-1953.
He was employed on the loading dock for Suburban Propane in Lansdale, PA for 35 years, prior to his retirement in 1985.
Mr. Chappell was a member of Indian Creek Church of the Brethren in Harleysville. In his free time, he enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Phillies, camping, and fishing.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Cynthia Souder and her husband Daniel of Quakertown, a son, Norman Richard Chappell, Jr. and his wife Joyce of Silverdale, three stepchildren: Tom Allebach and his wife Kathy of Lansdale, Mike Allebach and his wife Ann of Telford, Barbara Goertz of Vancouver Island, B.C., five grandchildren: Jason Souder (Lindsay), Carlene Morley (Joe), Tamrah Gross (Todd), Christopher Mullen (Christina), and Michael Chappell (Neang), seven step grandchildren: Jarrett Allebach (Hillary), Lauren Shieh (Dan), Jennifer Allebach, Christie Allebach, Sunflower Goertz, Willow Goertz, Demian Williamson, ten great grandchildren, ten step great grandchildren, a sister, Dorothy Evangelist of Whitehall, and a brother, Eugene Smith of Quakertown.
Services and Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are by the Sadler-Suess Funeral Home, Telford.
