EDWARDS, Norman J. - Of Burton, age 79, died Monday, May 5, 2008 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 11AM Friday, May 9, 2008 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11824 South Saginaw Street in Grand Blanc, Father Kusitino Cobona will celebrate and Rite of Committal will follow in Flint Memorial Park. Norman will lie in state at church after 10AM Friday. Visitation 4-8PM Wednesday and 1-8PM Thursday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A Rosary will be prayed at 7PM Thursday at the funeral home. Norm was born in Flint, Michigan on June 23, 1928 and was a resident of the Flint area his whole life. On October 7, 1950 Norm married Barbara J. Hilvers. Mr. Edwards served 6 years in the National Guard. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Mr. Edwards was employed by Fisher Body and retired after 43 years of service. Surviving are wife, Barbara; 3 sons, John and wife Nancy Edwards, James and wife Kimberly Edwards and Patrick Edwards; 3 grandchildren, Andrew, Jennifer and Felicia; great-grandchild, Samuel; brother, Donald and wife Lois Edwards. He was preceded in death by parents, Bruce and Florence (Cook) Edwards; granddaughter, Christina; sister; Clara and brother, Bruce.
