Norman Erickson was a wonderful human being. He made each student feel special and I was no exception. My family transferred to the Glencoe School District when I was in third grade and what could have been an uncomfortable transition was smoothed by his interest, concern and kindness. Norman Erickson had a tremendous impact on my life. I spent(K-8)in Glencoe, Illinois under his tutelage and watchful eye. I was a regular guest in his office for disciplinary reasons in lower grades. He was firm, but fair and motivated me from being a "class clown" to a serious student. A lesser educator would've kicked me out of school.
