Not sure what to say?

This is a uncommon thing for me to do. But, I suppose because Norm was not the everyday run of the mill human being, I feel compelled to say the following. Norm Gates was and remains my friend. Not the common everyday friend but truely a friend. Norm accepted me for who I am/was then and I believe he would smile at me now. Norm's journey through life was not run of the mill, he struggled with all events of the time i.e. racism, dealing with the workforce, and of course raising a family. ...

My Dear "Gates",

We've had nearly 60 years together. The first 57 passed by so very quickly. The last 3 years have been the longest 3 years I've ever known. You will always be in my mind, spirit and heart!! I love you...I miss you..and thank God for you!!! Your loving wife Curt

Leslie,
My thoughts are with you and your family. I did not realize until today that your Dad had passed away. It saddens me. I met your Dad 40 years ago and if I had to name one person who truly made a difference in my life it would be your Dad. He was one of a kind and will always be remembered. Sincerely, Gail Coshun

Daddy,

We all miss and think about you everyday. Heaven sure is lucky. Love Leslie and Martin
