I played for Coach Grimm at Bishop Ireton. His reputation as a tough, no-nonsense man preceded him. Me, being a Green Bay Packers fan saw him as a reincarnation of Vince Lombardi. He was tough, demanding, insightful, yet he was a coach, a mentor, he cared for his players. He wanted to inspire them to perform to their best. he left a imprint on me. At 67 years old, I am a better person for having played for him and known him as man.

I knew "Mr Grimm" or "Coach Grimm" ( the manner that I would address him) or "Stormin Norman" ( as we referred to him amongst our friends) as the father of childhood and high school friend Ed Grimm. Mr Grimm was always there for us; whether it be for a ride home from a game, an encouraging word or a pearl of wisdom which may have included a batting tip that never "took". Mr Grimm will be missed by many and sincerest condolences to the family Kevin Kady
