Dr. Jaffe was a pillar of this community, an eminent scientist, a dear and glorious physician, a Lover Of Zion, and... a REAL MENSCH!
He will be missed at BPEI and at UM Miller Center lectures!

Norman was a true mentsch. I got to know him at FIU's Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, where he took several of my courses. He was so incredibly unassuming and wise, and shall be greatly missed. As is said in the Biblical book of 1 Samuel (20:18): "You shall be missed, for your seat shall be empty . . ."

I knew Norman in his later years. I was his neighbor and acquaintance. He was always a gracious and friendly man, and whenever we met and he said, "Good morning, Glen," I always felt more important. He was that dignified. One word I would never use to describe Norman was 'old' because he was always the most youthful of people. My wife and I will certainly miss him.
