Norman was a complex person. You had to know him well to understand the kind of person he was. The bottom line was that he just wanted to be your friend. He would go out of his way to develop and expand this friendship and grow over the years. He would always ask how the family was, what was new in your life, constantly gathering thoughts and developing an interest in other people's lives. Norman and I crossed path 13 years ago in one of the USTEAA meetings and his forceful and mindful character sparked a lasting friendship not only between us but my entire family. He displayed a genuine interest on family who loved their country and in fact, he never missed giving me a USA flag medal before we start our lengthy conversation.
