Not sure what to say?

I can still see us sitting together on the Charter Commission in 1993-94, which was where we met. Norm, who had lived most of his life in Ypsi, always had good ideas to share with me, the newcomer, but often seemed reluctant to share them with the group. So I would incorporate them into my own remarks, making me seem smarter about the community than I actually was at that point! After he helped pass the new Charter at the ballot box and City Council decided to ignore it, he supported my...

I was so sorry to hear of Norm's passing. We met when we were both elected to serve on the 1993 Ypsilanti City Charter Commission. After we rewrote the Charter, he helped to get it passed at the polls - despite strong opposition from the city council. The following spring he helped me get elected Mayor of Ypsilanti. When we later needed to find a way to repave all the local city streets, he agreed to be on my Blue Ribbon Committee. The Committee came to the conclusion we would have to...

I worked with Norm briefly at Adams Concrete. Good guy.

I always looked forward to seeing Mr. Kennedy at the Road Commission and catching up on our ongoing road and bridge projects. His interest in our work reassured staff of his care for us and our agency. He was kind and had a great sense of humor. He will most certainly be missed. The WCRC staff offer our sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Norman was my Brother in Law whom I loved from a little girl. Our whole Family loved him. He was an asset to all so much that I called him Superman.

To Norman’s family, I offer my deepest sympathy. We were life- long friends. I had the privilege of serving on the Ypsilanti City Council during his tenure. He was always a gentleman and enjoyed wide support from many residents of the Ypsilanti area and beyond. We recently had the opportunity to reminisce about our time together. May the memories of his outstanding life help all of us to rededicate ourselves to the service of others which was his hallmark.

Norman was a friend, a mentor, and a man of honor and integrity. My thoughts and prayers go out to Norman’s family.

Rest in peace Mr. Kennedy. Prayers and condolences to the family. He was a friend of my Dad.

Treasured my friendship with Norm while we worked together at the Rd Commission, a fair and hard working leader, may Norm rest in peace, God Bless him and all his wonderful family.
