Norman Turner Mahoney, 77, of Scottsdale, AZ passed away January 24, 2007. He was born in Fairfield, FL on December 9, 1929. He is survived by wife Gayle, children: Scott Mahoney, Chuck Mahoney (Leslie), Jeff Mahoney, Brian Mahoney (Teddy) and Patti Mahoney; step children: Marilyn Crawford, Shauna Terreault (Steve), and Mare McGaughey (Janet); twenty one grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Ruth Swaim and Lucille Nylander and his brothers: David Mahoney, John Mahoney and Ralph Mahoney. He had been a sales executive for most of his life and became the President and CEO of the Kirby Vacuum Cleaner Company in the mid 1980's. His love for fishing, solving mechanical issues, and play card games was only exceeded by his passion for golf. Miraculously he could remember every golf shot of every game for both himself and those he played for years to come. He was mentor to countless young men and women who were striving to become successful in business and in life. His common sense counseling and down home style endeared him to all of those who had the privilege to know him or become part of his life. A private family service will be held in his honor. Not sure what to say?

Norman touched everyone who crossed his path. He displayed a marvelous sense of purpose and a keen wit. He loved his family dearly and demonstrated his values to all who took the time to observe Norman's habits and mannerisms. We can all learn from his kindness and compassion.

I personally did not have the chance to meet Norm in person, but i can promise you that he impacted my life through the people he had inspired and touched. Any man that can relay his good morals, judgement and passion for life to others, certainly served his fellow man well. My only wish is that God creates others of that character that can inspire all of us to be better people. He will be greatly missed!

It was over 28 years ago on a Kirby 100% Club trip when I first met Norm. It was an honor to have known him. To the Mahoney family you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Please accept our deepest sympathies from all of us in the Dakota's; Norm touched many lives when he was supervisor of rocky mtn. then pres. and c.e.o. of kirby; My wife kathy and I would personaly like to thank you for allowing norm time to be such an inspiration and very big reason for our success in business and life! Grandpa,
Where to begin....I am so thankful to have had such a wonderful, loving, caring, man as my Grandfather. I have so many darling memories I will cherish the rest of my life. You were an inspiration to so many people and touched so many hearts that there is no question you will be missed. I love you more then words can ever explain. This has been very hard on me but I know that you wouldn't want me to be sad but to be happy that you are in a better place. I thank you for being a part...

Grandpa, I know as years passed for whatever reasons we were not as close as when I was a little girl. I still liked hearing stories my Mom would tell me of different things you would do and say. I am sorry for not being able to know you as Shane and I grew into who we are now. To the Mahoney Family, Grandma Gayle and my Mom Marilyn, May peace and strength be with you in knowing God called an angel home. My heart, love and prayers are with you. Corrine (Marilyn's Daughter)
