I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Dr. Shaefer. I knew him from Chatham Players, where he generously volunteered his time as an usher for pretty much all of our shows for years. He was always so gracious and welcoming to the theatergoers...his warm presence will be missed.

Time to stand down, sir. Your tour of duty is complete. It was an experience to serve with you, especially as the 33th MSES new facility was constructed.

I worked at the Summit Medical Group as his office nurse from 1979 to 1982.
Dr. Shafer was a gifted surgeon and who loved his time serving his country as a military surgeon. It was an honor to work for him. I’m glad he had a long full life.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.
