Not sure what to say?

My deepest condolences to the family and close friends of Dr. Shumway. I am alive today at the age of 52 thanks to his amazing work. I was 17 days old when he fixed 2 holes in my heart in 1973. I am forever greatful to this man. Rest in peace, Dr. Shumway Jeri Williamson

I will always remember Dr. Shumway, and the amazing nurses Candy and Ellie, that took care of me. I know there were many others, but those are the two that I remember the most.

I have been so influenced by my own medical...

My sincere sympathy for the family. As so many others have stated, Dr. Shumway was a blessing to us. My son, Jimmy Darrell Tate born 2/26/72 with a rate heart disease, Tetralogy of Fallot. After several heart surgeries, I was told that my son could have a normal childhood but would not live to be an adult. In 1977 Dr. Shumway performed corrective surgery on Jimmy. After 90 long days in ICU and by the Grace of God, Jimmy lived to be 34 years old. Jimmy had a total of 19 surgeries, 2 of...

Please accept my sincere sympathy on the passing of Dr. Shumway. In 1971, Dr. Shumway successfully performed open heart surgery on me. I was 2 at the time and living in Phoenix but my cardiologist, Marian Molthan insisted my parents take me to Dr. Shumway. I have two healthy children of my own now. I will always hold your legacy dear to my heart. Jodie Khotim (Cherow)

My deepest sympathy to Dr. Shumway's family and friends. I know he touched many lives through out his life and will be remembered for all he has done. My family has the deepest respect for him and what he has done for my sister Kimberly, who at birth was not expected to live due to a whole in her heart. 36 years later she is well and thriving, no doubt due to Dr. Shumway back in 1971. To this day I speak of Dr. Shumway to my doctors and they are all admirers of him as well. We are proud...
