I served with Cpl Smith in the Marine Corps from 1986 to 1987. I knew him there as Cpl Smith, ironically that was his rank working with the Dallas PD. Norm was a special type of guy, as a young Marine, he took me under his wing and I am very thankful for all the lessons he taught me. To his family I offer my deepst symphaty. I saw his rememberence on the 1st 48 hours the other night. Rest in peace my brother! Eric Shedd SSgt USMC retired. Semper Fi Cpl Smith, keep em in line Marine.

I thought of you today and know that God is watching over you and your family. I do not know you personally, however I have been blessed to have several friends in law enforcement. I pray for their safety every day. My prayer for you is to find peace somewhere in all this. To know he was a GREAT man.

So sorry for your loss. I cant imagine the struggle you have and still must be going through. I found out about your loss today via the first 48. may god be with you and your children.
