NORMAN ALFRED SMOAKE

I am still at a loss for words over this. Mr. Smoake meant the world to me, it had been far too long since he and I had spoken and I mistakenly assumed we would one day. I will never forget the summer vacations with him and the rest of the family. The trips he and I took to the Pensacola Naval Air Museum will always be my fondest memories of the time I spent with this great man. I am sadden by the news of Norman's passing. He was a dear friend. I will never forget the wonderful times we had growing up as neighbors in Jacksonville.

Time passes far too quickly. Seems like yesterday that I looked up to and admired the Smoakes when I was growing up in Jacksonville. I always thought they were the model family. Norman and all of the Smoakes were certainly highly regarded and admired by my family. I am sure he will be missed but I am also certain the influence he had on others will be lasting and memorable for many years to come.
