I will never forget the summer vacations with him and the rest of the family. I am sadden by the news of Norman's passing. He was a dear friend. I will never forget the wonderful times we had growing up as neighbors in Jacksonville.

Time passes far too quickly. Seems like yesterday that I looked up to and admired the Smoakes when I was growing up in Jacksonville. I always thought they were the model family. Norman and all of the Smoakes were certainly highly regarded and admired by my family. I am sure he will be missed but I am also certain the influence he had on others will be lasting and memorable for many years to come.

We are so very sorry to hear about the loss of Norman, We were so shocked by this news, Norman was always enjoyable to be around, We'll miss his smiling face when we run into him at WalMart. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Sherry & Gene Easley (Melissa and John's neighbors)
