Norman WyersMay 28, 1932 - Dec. 14, 2021 Norm was born in Newport Beach, Calif., May 28, 1932. He was the first child of Clifford "Dutch" and Virginia "Jino" Wyers. Dutch was a fisherman while Jino raised Norm and his younger sister Karen. The family was poor, but Norm loved living close to the...

Not sure what to say?

Kristinoel Ludwig posted today on the third anniversary of Norm Wyers´ passing. With Covid-19 and all the rest, I was unaware. Together, we served on the board of directors at Burnside Community Council / Baloney Joe´s. We survived a real life scandal together. A few years back, we had breakfast at the PInk Cadillac (now Cadillac cafe) where he gave me a treasure trove of pictures from Baloney Joe´s, which I forwarded to the Oregon Historical Society. I´m glad we had that opportunity to break...

I just read this for the first time and I am feeling so sad that I didn't get to see Norm like we had planned. Covid hit and ruined our plans. :( I hope you know how much Norm was loved by his California cousins! We miss you Norm and will never forget you. Much love, Christine and Allen

Sorry for your loss, Abby and Peter.

Norm (1) excellent role-model of how to be a social work practitioner and teacher. (2) lifelong liberal democrat who loved Robert Kennedy and promoted social justice everywhere he lived. (3) Norm and Dianne's Ashland victorian home was a hub for colleagues and artists who gathered to listen to the latest 1960 albums of Dylan, Baez, Simon and Garfunkel and The Beatles. (4) an emotionally articulate, good-natured, hard-working, inspiring, joyous colleague and friend. (5) Loved his family. Would...

it was wonderful to read of all Norm's accomplishments in life but not surprising since he was truly a nice guy. ..'cause I knew him when...I dated him when I was at Oregon State (1951-1953) (along with double-dating buddies Judy & Chuppie)...Rest in peace... with fond memories, Sandy Richards Juhola

Sad to hear this. He was a remarkable teacher. Had him for biology & chemistry at Eagle Point. He was our class advisor & we had a number of memorable activities including the prom. Will never forget him.

Norm was a colleague and a friend. He was always supportive of me in my work for social change and work on behalf of the poor. He was truly one of the good guys and we are all diminished by his passing.

The picture of Norm is perfect, it so captures his essence, the twinkle in his eye just as he is going to crack you up with one of his wry observation on life and those living it. I am so glad and proud that he was in my life, learned so much from him, was influenced so much by him. Amd so many others can say the same. Abby, you really described your Dad, he would have loved it. Imnaha - Norm knows what it means.

Dear Abby and Peter and your family, Your dad was one of my very best friends from Oregon State, where we met in 1953 when I was a freshman. Norm was an outstanding human being. The world is a sadder place without him. Love to you and your families, Nancy
