Not sure what to say?

For Norval, the wonderful person he was and the true friendship we had. He is in heaven.

There are few people who make impacts on one's life. I am so glad that Norval was one person impacting my life. I now realize how lucky I was having him as a fine professor and then a wonderful friend. I am just so very sorry that I was out of the country when he passed away although we had email exchanges on his last days. This world is a better place because of him and people like him.

Dear Dr. Glenn,
My name is Jeng Liu, from Taiwan, has took your Research Methods and Family Studies courses when I was a graduate student. I got my PhD in 1998. After my graduation, I sent you Teacher's Card a few times around Chinese Teacher's Day (9/28). Time flies. I am now Professor of Sociology, Tunghai University, Taiwan. At this moment, I am the Fulbright Visitng Scholar at Queens College, the City University of New York. I am so sorry to know that I cannot meet you anymore....

The kindest, fairest, finest, and most accomplished person I met in my four years on the Texas faculty, and of the most extraordinary I have ever met anywhere. The world is so much a lesser place without Norval Glenn.

To the memories of my dear friend and mentor, Norval Glenn. I do miss him and his kindness.

Thank you, Norval, for your service to our country.

We are truly sorry to hear of Norval's passing.

In my research last year I discovered Norval's work. I called him to thank him for his commitment to the field of relationship education. He was surprised that I would call to express my gratitude to a perfect stranger, but his spirit that expressed itself so freely in his writings was like that of a trusted friend. Thank you Norval for being the difference. Isabell Springer, PhD candidate, Gainesville, FLA.

Professor Norval Glenn was gentle and very kind with his students. He was extremely patient with foreign students like me at UT, and always willing to help us. Even few years later, when I called him for advise on my first Syllabus on Family, course that I was teaching at UCLA. He was so kind discussing my ideas, offering suggestions and sending me readings. I will miss him very much and would like to send all my best to his wife. "Mis sentimientos y abrazos Grace".
