Not sure what to say?

I am so sorry to hear of Nel's passing. As an old girlfriend, I can say he was one of the funniest, kindest, wildest and greatest men I have ever known. What a great friend he was. My heart is full of memories and fun, smiles and now, sadness. He was such a joy to this world and all who knew him. He will be greatly missed. God Bless him.

We truly will miss a dear friend. He was like a family member to us and we will always keep him in our hearts, remembering his smile, his laugh and all the funny stories. What a joy he brought to all of us for knowing him. We miss you, save a place for us and watch over all the upcoming young hockey players.

Novelli was one of my first great loves when we were teenagers in Red Lake. He remains in a special place in my heart. Lots of wonderful memories. He truly lived life! My condolences to his family.

Nels,
our memories of you are filled with; laughter. fun,and friendship! You were an amazing person. You will live forever in our memory and for that we thank you!

Nels was a great inspiration to a whole generation of Spokane youth hockey players, through his hard nosed style of play! As I got older, and got to know Nels on a different level, I learned that he was every bit as good a person, as he was a hockey player! Thanks for the memories and God bless!

Sad news indeed. We will never forget what a friendly guy Nels was when we made our annual trips to Spokane for Bloomsday. The last time we saw Nelly was at Gail and Sharon's place last summer - sitting on the deck, having supper, some beers and singing some songs. Perfect memory. There will never be another Nelly! Tracy, Devin, Calleigh and I send our condolences to your brothers and extended family.

We were so very sad to hear of Novelli's passing. He was a wonderful athlete and an all around very sweet guy. We will miss him. We send condolences to all the Venerus brothers

I will miss you Nels. You and my granddaughter had the best jokes between each other. Huskies vs Cougars!!! We had such laughs together and you were such a great neighbor. For Gale Holden I can only say what a dear friend you are, the loving care you gave to Nels. Nels will be missed. Doreen Teufel
