Remembering a best friend and a brother. Jagdish chandra

Many years after I received my doctorate, I ran into Nozer somewhere and got into one of our many friendly disagreements about some aspect of probability. He said, "You know, as an alum, you can audit a course for $100. You should come sit through my reliability seminar again." I replied, "I think I remember most of it, and I have my notes." He said, "I'm not talking about what you might have forgotten. I want to show you what I've learned." He was the essence of a true scholar: always...

We have lost a giant in the field of reliability and risk modeling. We were all delighted at Rutgers when he received the Rutgers Medal of Excellence award...He will be missed.

My sincere condolences to the family. Nozer was a kind man and an extraordinary thinker. I will always remember our acquaintance and communication on a variety of subjects. Rest in peace.

I KNEW NOZER MOTE THAN 30 YEATS. HE WAS A HILARIOUS SMART, COOPERATIVE, SINCERE FRIEND. WE EXCHANGED IDEAS AND RESULTS ALL THE TIME. NOZER VISITED MY HOME IN MICHIGAN DURING THE FISC CONFERENCE IN 2014, WHERE NOZER WAS AN INVITED SPEAKER. I CAN NOT BELIEVE, NOSER IS NOT WITH US ANYMORE. LET HISVWAY AMONG THE STARS BE BRIGHT AS HIS LIFE ON THE EARTH. NOSER, I MISS YOU AND WILL NEVER FORGET. MY HEART AND MY THOUGHTS ARE WITH YOU. REST IN PEACE, MY DEAR FRIEND. Boyan...

I was very saddened to read the news that Nozer had passed away. I met Nozer in the 1990's and I have always treasured the two-day visit that he made to my department. I remember him as energetic, supportive, optimistic, full of zeal and energy, simply a wonderful guy, and I wish I had kept in touch with him more often. I learnt much from him.

Sadly missed ... words are not enough. Rest In Peace my friend.
