Not sure what to say?

I was going to look up Nyla to see if the fires were affecting her and other family members. I am so sorry to see she died in 2015. She provided such friendship & laughter when Marsha and I moved to Redding in 1965, and for many years after.
I welcome contact by her family.

Nyla you were far more than a coach and P.E. teacher, you taught me respect and values! It meant the world to me that you and Eddie filmed my wedding, and reception and gave it to me as a gift. The real gift is having not just that day on film, but having the two of you being part of it!! So many great memories I will cherish them all!! Tell mom & dad hi for me, I'm sure your having a great reunion with them as well as Eddie! You will be missed that's for sure! Love ya!!!!

Miss Corey....you were a real hero in my life at Shasta High School! I remember as a new student in Jan. 1969, I was placed in her PE class. I was a sophomore in a JUNIOR PE class!! I was scared! But Corey made me feel welcome, the older students accepted me, AND unlike my former school, we had gymnastics! I was able to do the uneven bars thanks only to her encouragement! The next two years I spent on the drill team, bleary eyed each early morning practice. She was tough, but gentle...

Miss Corey was just a sweet young thing when she came to Shasta High. She was both demanding and fair as our P.E. teacher. She tried and tried to teach me golf and tennis. Some things can not be taught. I still recall our senior girls throwing her butt in the swimming pool for making us swim in a heated pool in December, the nerve. Good bye Miss Corey.

Thank you Coach for giving me the opportunity to learn the game of softball and even play as a senior even though I had never played before my exchangestudent year! A great experience and very nice team activities! I still have the pen I got for graduation :-)

My condolences to the family. Nyla was my softball coach at Shasta High for all the years I played there, I learned my love of the game and competition from her and because of that went on to play college softball, competitive softball and recreation softball for many (too many) years after that!

**to correct my auto spell error... (Along with punctuation haha, Nyla taught me about punctuality too!)

Rest in peace coach Webb, she lead our SHS Softball team to championship greatness my varsity years. I learned quite a bit about punctuation and that it was expected of us, no exceptions. She was fair giving everybody play time regardless of the opportunity of win or loss. I remember her being a strong woman who was a good role model. She and the rest of our coaching staff made a huge impact in my life, still to this day, and I wish her the best in her soul travels beyond this...

Where do I even begin to tell the story of how Nyla Corey Webb touched and shaped my life, literally. She is the sole reason why I am never late to anything. Being a member of the SHS 1971/72 PomPon drill team, I learned that if you weren't inside that gym for practice by 7 a.m. when she locked the doors, you didn't perform. Period. No exceptions, no excuses. But more importantly I learned, without even realizing it, how to be a responsible human being. I was the head pompon girl my...
