Octavia Stanley Cox, 93 of Laurel Fork, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2015 at Heritage Hall Laurel Meadows. Mrs. Cox was the daughter of the late William and Sally Nester Stanley. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Dennie M. Thompson and her second husband, T.V. Cox. She is also preceded in death by a daughter, Judy C. Shockley and a grandson, Michael T. Barr.

She is survived by her children, Annie Ruth Barr of Hillsville, Bobby G. Thompson and wife, Glenda of Galax, Thurman B. Thompson and wife, Myrtle of Spencer, Elsie I. Gray and husband, Billy of Lebanon, Tommy D. Cox and wife, Diane of Meadows of Dan and Ricky L. Cox and wife, Debra of Bassett. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 22 great- grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday, August, 17, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Nathan Montgomery officiating. The burial will follow in the Maple Shade Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at the funeral home from 6 ? 8 P.M. Such a wonderful lady has entered her final home we will miss you but oh the memories we have I will always hold them in my heart love you bunches

My deepest sympathy in the loss of your mom. I remember her from back in the late 70's when she was a patient at the medical office where I worked. She was a very sweet lady. i pray that God will give each of you comfort during this time of loss.
