Bill DeBerry Funeral Directors - Denton Obituary

Odin Tyler Painter, age 8, Caydence Nicole Painter, age 6, and Drake Alexander Painter, age 4, left their earthly home together on Wednesday, May 16, 2018.

Odin was a Boy Scout with Troop 4077. Odin was so passionate about scouting and the outdoors that he would sometimes set up a tent in the house when he wasn’t able to go camping. He was a compassionate child. Highly sensitive to the suffering of others, Odin had a gift for comforting those who were in pain or just having a bad day. He was one of the top math students in the Keller ISD at a young age and he thrilled to discover new words to add to his vocabulary. But as a playful eight-year-old, Odin also loved drawing, Legos and Pokemon. Good oldest siblings have unique value in this world and Odin took special care to look out for his little sister and brother.

Caydence Painter really enjoyed being a kindergartner, where her love of reading and writing blossomed. She couldn’t wait to tell her mother about all her friends at school and about how great Coach Wilson was. Caydence would bust out dancing no matter what kind of music, so great was her joy. She was a tomboy who loved being a girl. She liked fishing and was devoted to her brothers. Caydence very much looked up to her big brother Odin. Her favorite color was red – just like his.

The youngest of the family, Drake made lots of friends at daycare. Drake’s mother called him “bear” because he was an enthusiastic cuddler who loved being in his mama’s arms. He enjoyed fishing, coloring, and eating cheese pizza. Drake liked to have a wild good time playing in the outdoors, which he strongly preferred to screens, but he was also a comforter of others who delighted in picking flowers for his mom and had an old soul that touched those around him. That’s probably why Drake’s grandpa called him “Hoss.”

Odin, Caydence and Drake were open-hearted and universally affirming of others. They loved being together in life and are no doubt with one another in Heaven, like they’ve always been.

Odin, Caydence and Drake are survived by their mother Amanda Simpson Painter, Maternal Aunt and Uncle, Ashley and Bryan Sides, and their children, Delilah and Gracelynn Sides, Maternal Uncle Alex Floyd, Maternal Grandparents Ronnie Floyd, Jr and Maria Floyd and Joseph Reynolds, Jr. and Michelle Camp. Paternal Aunt and Uncle, Brooke and Grant Tracy, and their daughter, Althea Tracy, Paternal Grandparents Tom & Sandy Trimble and Earl & Marsha Painter and many, many other extended family and friends. The children were preceded in death by their maternal grandmother Brenda Rae Simpson.

A memorial service honoring the lives of these precious children will be held Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 6:00 P.M. at The Nest at Ruth Farms at 3930 Bud Williams Road, Ponder, Texas 76259. All who wish to honor the lives of Odin, Caydence and Drake are welcome. The family respectfully requests no media attend.

<3 Rest peacefully in heaven, precious angels.

What beautiful children and I am sorry for your loss. It's clear their mom did the best she could, always trying to keep everyone happy and give love to everyone and make the best of a hard situation. In their life these children gave hugs and love and we will all benefit forever from it.

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

I will always remember Odins curly blonde hair and his sweet smile. He had such a love for learning. He was a strong reader but he loved math and science. He was a friend to everyone and would be the first to help a friend in need. I feel blessed to have had the chance to be Odins teacher. He will always have a special place in my heart.

Precious angels

Lord hear my prayer, be with this family. Hold them tight in your hand. Amen

You have my deepest condolences.
