Not sure what to say?

I was saddened to read that Olaf had passed away. My condolences to Marcia and family. My wife, Elizabeth and I were planning a trip to South Dakota with her sister and her husband and I just googled Ole. I recall my trip to Sioux Falls for your wedding, (how many years ago?) and thought I´d touch base with Ole. Didn´t know you moved to Nebraska. I have nothing but fond memories of Ole from our Brooklyn days. So many have passed since then. Roy, all of my brothers. I will think of him today...

He was the best pastor I have ever known, I've known him basically known him my whole life

Pastor Olaf helped my father (Pastor Tom Holcombe) create a memorial service for my mother that incorporated Dad's love of Lutheran hymns. We used that same format several years later for my dad's funeral service. I am so grateful for Pastor Olaf's time and input to brainstorm that service with my dad and me and his care in holding the service at Kountze.

To Marcia and Family...I respected and adored Pastor Olaf. He always had a smile and kind word. My whole family was blessed to have him for our Pastor at Kountze. Our grandchild, Madeline, was guided through confirmation lessons and confirmed by Pastor Olaf. She looked forward to her classes so much. Marcia, Maddie thought the world of you too. We will miss Pastor's presence, but he will never leave our hearts and memories. Vicki Freeman and Family

Marcia & Beth, We are so incredibly saddened by this news. We adored Pastor Olaf. He made many visits to the hospital during my illness. Not only did he provide spiritual support but funny candid moments as well. I always looked forward to his visits. I cannot imagine the shock and unimaginable grief you are both feeling. I'm so sorry. I hope that God provides you with the peace and contentment that only He can give. Peace be with you! Mike & Kelly Steen Sioux Falls - Eastside Lutheran Church.

My sincere sympathy for Marcia and family, Olaf was so special, unique, for sure. He was my pastor for 17 years, and just as important to me, he was my friend. He was a rock. Just can't seem to wrap my head around this. He will be missed. I pray for your peace.

Prayers and great memories for the family! A great person of God, and also a Norwegian! Skol!

Both of us are truly sorry for the loss of this incredible man. We have been blessed by his calling of our lord Jesus Christ. Logan and Christina Knudson Petik
