Olga passed away at The Gardens at Warwick Forest, Newport News, on March 4, 2012 after a short illness. She was born in Norfolk, Virginia on August 31, 1924 to Captain George Thomas, USN and Olga M. Thomas. "Tommie" as she was known to family and friends, married Captain Charles Bellis, USN during World War II. As both a U.S. Navy daughter and wife, she lived throughout the world to include the Virgin Islands, Hawaii, Trinidad, Virginia Beach, and Belgium. After the death of her husband, Tommie married Robert Andrews and lived in southern California. She enjoyed golf, bridge, reading, gardening, and traveling the world. She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers, George Thomas and Commander Alvin Thomas, USN; second husband, Robert, and her daughter, Margaret Anne Erickson. Left with wonderful memories of Tommie are her sons, Lieutenant Colonel Charles Bellis, Jr., USMC (Ret.) and wife, Sue, of Poquoson, VA, and Steven Bellis and wife, Fran, of Tampa, FL; and stepson Jeffrey Andrews, also of Tampa; grandchildren: Elizabeth Bellis-Miller and husband, Mike, of Mulberry Grove, IL, Danielle Cote and husband, Tim, of Williamsburg, VA, Paul Bellis of Austin, TX, John Erickson II of Tampa, FL, and Kayci Erickson, of San Diego, CA; and great-grandchildren: Kaiah Miller, Megan Miller, Grady Cote, Adriene Cote, Kevin Barton, Kylee Barton, and Sydney Barton. Tommie's family would like to thank the staff at Warwick Forest for the excellent care they provided. A service of remembrance will be held at Keswick Place at Warwick Forest on Thursday, March 8, 2012, at 2:00 PM. In accordance with Tommie's wishes, she will be buried at sea.
