Hillview Funeral Chapels - Patterson Obituary

Olga Veatrice Holcombe (née Bingham) died peacefully at home on June 2nd, 2021 in Patterson, California at the age of 87.

Olga is survived by her husband, Walter Holcombe; children, Karen Lake of Keystone Heights, Florida and Kevin Holcombe of Manteca, California; grandchildren, Chad Villines of Keystone Heights, Florida, Lindsey Wilson of Lady Lake, Florida, Ethan Lake of Keystone Heights, Florida, Noah Holcombe of Tracy, California; and many great grandchildren.

Olga was born on July 16th, 1933 in Hamlin, Texas to H.L Bingham and Claudia Bingham. She graduated from Courtney High School in 1951. She married Walter Holcombe, her high school sweetheart, in 1952. Her children remember her as a kind, devoted mother who encouraged them to always find joy within their lives. Olga was an example to us all that it is possible to be the best version of yourself.

Olga was a woman of faith and an accomplished musician and often combined her two passions by playing the piano to honor her Lord and Savior. She was a dedicated Baptist who loved to share the word of God and who spent years dedicating her time to the local food bank. She was an active and dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Patterson and would often be found at the front of the pulpit, playing the piano during Sunday services. Olga was named “Woman of the Year” in 2009 for her commitment in building strong communities by the Westside Community Alliance. Olga sang in Sweet Adeline barbershop quartets while residing California, England and Scotland.

A Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Tuesday, June 8th at Hillview Funeral Chapel in Patterson. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 9th at First Baptist Church in Patterson. Interment to follow at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Olga’s life.
