Olimpia (Martins) Santos, 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday October 23, at the Vero Health Care Center in Wilbraham. The daughter of the late Antonio Martins and Lucinda Maria (Alves) Martins-Neves, she was born and raised in Alcobca, Portugal. In November of 1969, Olimpia and her family emigrated to the United States, settling in Ludlow, MA. After moving to the US she began a career working as an Inspector at Smith and Wesson until her retirement in 1986. Aside from her parents, Olimpia was also predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Joao Jose Santos, and her brother Jose Martins. She is survived by her daughter Marisa Champney and her husband John, of Palmer, her son Antonio Santos and his wife Stacey of Chicopee, her 3 grandchildren Adria Ana Champney, Alicia Santos, and Ryan Santos, and her 2 great grandchildren, Jasmine and Jocelyn Hicks. She will also be missed by her nieces Sergia, Ana Paula, Margarita, Alexandra, Caterina and her nephew Luis Antonio, back in Portugal.
