STROUDSBURG Olin A. Cramer passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at Grace Park in Stroudsburg, PA. in his 99th year. He was the husband of the late Rhoda Hamill Cramer who passed in 1990. He later was the loving companion of the late Doris Headrick who passed in 2013. Born in East Stroudsburg, he was the youngest and last survivor of five sons and a daughter of Russell C Cramer and Jennie Mader Cramer. He graduated from East Stroudsburg High School and Pennsylvania State College. He proudly and honorably served in the United States Navy during World War II and was stationed in Panama. He spent years in retail lumber managing at different times the R. C. Cramer lumber yards located in Portland and Wind Gap, PA (later known as Cramer Home Center or Cramers Cashway). He retired early at age 55. He was a long-time President and Board Director of Portland National Bank until it was merged into First Eastern Bank in 1985. He served on the Bangor School District Authority, and Portland Ambulance Service Board, and was a member of the Portland Lions Club and also the Masonic Lodge. During his retirement, he enjoyed smoking cigars, playing cards, and watching the market, movies, and Penn State football games at his Mt Bethel home. He belonged to and was a deacon of the Presbyterian Church in Portland, which later became the Community Presbyterian Church of Mt. Bethel and Portland. He is survived by daughter Patricia J. Powlette and her husband Louis D. Powlette, son Carl R, Cramer and his wife Jill Siegfried Cramer, daughter Anne Cramer and brother-in-law Gary Hamill and his wife Cindy Hamill, along with seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both his daughter Leigh C. Wood and her husband Richard Wood. Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, August 30th at Riverview Cemetery, 720 Delaware Avenue, Portland, PA. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Gaffney Parsons Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., "Village of Johnsonville" Bangor, PA. Online condolences may be offered at gaffneyparsons.com. My deepest condolences to the entire family. Olin will be missed by many. I'm glad that I was able to visit with him this past spring at Grace Park. I'm sure that he is reading his Baarons, watching his old movies and cheering on Penn State while smoking his favorite cigar! RIP my friend. WE ARE!!
