Not sure what to say?

He might have terrified students at first, but all left their final class understanding their potential previously unknown to themselves. I've never had a teacher that was so incredibly adept at holding the attention of students. He was also my hockey coach, he always had great teams even in years when talent was thin. Some might have guessed him for being tough in his approach to encourage kids to be their best, but there was a very tender side. Coach (teacher) Gill helped me when family...

Im sorry it took so long to hear about Cliff Gills passing. What a great man he was. I was,in his words, his first goalie. We won the ice hockey championship in 1964 I once wrote a letter to MHS that said, a lot of coaches carried the torch of for MHS hockey but Cliff along with Joe Miller lit that torch. Because I was the goalie, Mr. Gill was my personal coach. RIP I'll never forget you. Andy (RedLight) Fraioli Class of 64

Mr Gill was the best teacher I ever had. He took our Algebra class of hooligans from MHS to the NY World´s Fair in 1964. He told us he believed in us and we were capable of behaving appropriately. We did not disappoint him. I have never forgotten him.

Coach Gill never played soccer but was a great soccer coach. His love of sports, especially hockey, helped him coach in a very effective way. His sense of humor while instilling discipline in practice, games and sportsmanship was admirable. My mom worked at the board of Ed office and called him one of the best teachers, which was saying something as there were many great teachers in the Mamaroneck school system. While just learning of his passing years later, I just had to express condolences...

As my teacher and hockey coach, he made more of an impact on my life than any other individual when I needed it most. I'm not sure that I would have survived my childhood without him.

Dear Kay,
Joan and I recently were saddened learning of Cliff's passing into God's Hands. Unfortunately, after retiring and moving to Vero Beach, Florida in 1996, one loses contact with their friends in the north. I met Cliff on the lacrosse field, he as an official and myself as a coach. The sport was new in Westchester and it was difficult to have an official that was knowledgeable of the rules and able to administer them on the field. Your Cliff was this special person that was a...

Mr. "Cliff" Gill was the Best Teacher that I ever had the great pleasure of having in my student career at MHS.
He understood the True Method of Teaching - Loved what he did - and wrote the BEST College recommendation for me. Thank you Mr. Gill .... from Barbara May

My deepest sympathy to you. It is wonderful to know that you have had time with your grandchildren. I know you have wonderful memories.
Cliff and I began our teaching careers in Mamaroneck Junior High School in 1960. It was a long and eventful "ride".
With thoughts and prayers.
