Not sure what to say?

Ollie was a fellow med school classmate. He was well respected and liked by all. We will all miss him. I bought his book and was surprised by his difficult childhood and amazed at his resilience. He persevered and had a very successful and rewarding life. Very well deserved. God Bless Oliver Grin!

My mother was rushed to Butterworth Hospital December 5th of 1984 with a ruptured brain aneurysm. Dr Grin saved her life and will forever be a hero in my book! What a great man and a great loss. My sincerest condolences. - Tori Gillesse

Oh, I am heartbroken to read about `Dr. Grin´s´ passing three years ago. You see, I worked for Drs. Grin, Herz and Castillo way back in 1990, as a patient registrar and then later as a billing representative in his office. He exuded composure. He was always calm and collected whenever I was in his presence. He had a team of talented support around him that worked like a fine oiled machine-Mary and Marge were always behind the scenes anticipating needs and taking care of business. They had...

Dr. Grin's Family, Three years late in writing this. But after just learning of Dr. Grin's passing and reading the previous condolences, I wanted to let you know he made a tremendous difference in my life also. A friend suggested I make an appointment with Dr. Grin to be evaluated for back surgery. He identified the source of the pain and suggested "Joe Montana" surgery (lumbar laminectomy). In the visit after the procedure, he told me "after looking around I thought it best to do two...

I am very sorry to hear of the death of Dr. Grin. He was such a great surgeon and man. He did surgery on my cervical spine. What a loss to this community. My sympathies to his family.

What a great man. I was diagnosed with a brain tumor back in 1991. He did the surgery and saved my life. My deepest sympathy to his entire family

I just became informed of this very sad news. Dr. Grin was a wonderful man, highly intelligent, tolerant, and genuinely kind to everyone. He was a pleasure to work for and motivated others to find the best in themselves. His generosity allowed one to achieve unknown potentials and increase one's perspective of what is possible in this world. He was a superb surgeon and physician who always gave his best. He deserved the success he achieved in life and in his sailing endeavors, sharing the...

Sonny made an impression on me in 9th grade as a smart , ambitious very cute classmate in Duluth. On top of that he was our paper boy, and several of us girls had a crush on him. His nickname suited him, Sonny Grin, though in my mind it ought to have been spelled Sunny. His winsome smile was missed when his family moved to Michigan some time around our 10th grade year.
He was a good friend to me in recent years by way of cell phone calls, as we laughed and shared the concerns and...

Just learned of Ollie's passing. We spent endless hours during our early teens in Duluth passing a baseball back and forth, riding our bikes, going to Duluth Dukes baseball team games and anticipating our futures. He aspired to be third baseman for the Cleveland Indians. I think he chose a greater goal. Every year, without fail he would call me on my birthday(4/24/42) to remind me how much younger he was. I offer my deepest sympathy to Oliver's family. His was truly a life well lived. ...
