Not sure what to say?

I grew up watching Omar's on-air professionalism. He kindly visited with me when I graduated from college and began looking for a sportscasting job. I became the "voice of the Buckeyes' and will always be grateful for the journalistic integrity of Omar, Tom Hamlin at Channel 7, and Si Burick and Ritter Collett and other writers at Dayton's two newspapers. Thank you, Omar. You set the bar high for all of us who followed you. Chuck Underwood

with his sports approach.Later as

I looked at his funeral as a celebration of life, from his grandson talking of how inspiring his grandpa was to him or Kris’s thoughts on Omar’s ride to the pearly gates.

When I covered Sports with Omar I was lucky enough to meet folks like Pete Rose, Mohammed ail, Paul Brown or two old men playing horseshoes. He treated all with respect and...
